Delete your PhoneIQ account
This page explains how to ask Phone IQ, Inc. to delete your PhoneIQ account and the data that goes with it. It covers the PhoneIQ app for iPhone, Mac and Android and your PhoneIQ account on the web. You do not need the app installed to make a request.
How to request deletion
Email help@phoneiq.co with the subject "Delete my PhoneIQ account". Send it from the email address you use to sign in, and include:
- The email address on the account.
- The name of your business or workspace.
- Whether you want to delete only your own user account, or the whole workspace. Only the workspace owner or an admin can ask to delete a whole workspace.
Our support team replies from help@phoneiq.co to confirm the request came from the account holder, then deletes the account and tells you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your user account: name, email address, sign-in details and PhoneIQ user ID.
- The 911 address registered for your number.
- Contacts you entered in the app.
- Your call history, text messages (SMS), call recordings and voicemail.
If the workspace owner or an admin asks to delete the whole workspace, this data is deleted for every user in that workspace.
What is kept, and for how long
Business records such as call logs, messages and voicemail are deleted with the account, except in two cases:
- When the law requires a record. Some records, such as billing and tax records, must be kept by law. We keep them only as long as that law requires.
- When your workspace needs its own records. If your account is part of a business's workspace, the calls, messages and voicemail on that business's lines belong to the workspace. Deleting your user account removes your profile and your access. The business keeps its records until its owner or admin deletes them or asks us to delete the workspace.
Telnyx, the carrier that connects PhoneIQ calls and texts, may keep its own records of calls and messages under its own legal obligations.
